I get most of the way through, then I notice there's a rom whose intro music was just garbled noise after the checksum correction. i am trying to play a SMW rom that has been patched with a hack called Luigi's Adventure (overseas edition), but when i try to load it on SNES9X, it says bad checksum, and is unable to load my rom. The emulator automatically pauses the game, when you switch to a different window, you can toggle this option off. EDIT: it's all fixed now in version 1. So I spent about an hour going through my curated folder, looking for checksum errors when booting in an emulator, fixing them with the tool, then testing again to see if fixed. Moving to the Emulation menu, you can set the program to jump frames, add ROM hacks and choose some advanced options like rewind time, Hi-Res AVI recording, etc. This was already fixed in 1.03, but i must have accidentally opened the rom in LM 3.31 instead of LM 3.31 when i updated the hack to 1.04. So I found a tool that fixes checksums, which I just assumed should be cleaned up, why not? Might help games run when they might otherwise not. It relies heavily on the MSU-1 chip, so it needs an up to date version of lr-snes9x (in the experimental packages section) to run.I've still wading into this scene. And the controls being simple button presses instead of an attempt to simulate an analog steering wheel make the game infinitely more enjoyable and responsive. I dl some hack (for example Super Mario Infinity: Mystery of the Magic Wand) and hack the original rom that is US version with Lunar Magic v1.91 OK LM tells Me that the hack is closed and I can't edit it (I guess it's blocked by author) Whatever. As some further information, this is the message I get when opening the ROM Hack in Snes9X: 'SUPER MARIOWORLD' bad checksum LoROM, 4Mbits, ROM+RAM+BAT, NTSC, SRAM:16Kbits, ID:, CRC32:0D32981C I don't really know what most of this stuff means in relevance to the ROM not starting up, though I do know a bad checksum is most likely the reason. It's a classic FMV game from 1986, published by Data East with animation from Toei. The thing is I can't get any hack to work. It's something that shouldn't really exist (an actual cartridge of such a game would take upwards of 6000 Mbit, whereas the largest commercial SNES cartridge was around 48, I believe), and yet it's probably the most enjoyable way to play this game on RetroPie, since it doesn't work on Daphne, the Sega CD version has terrible graphics and the PSX version controls terribly (same for the Sega CD one). Snes9x not working with unlicensed games. Super Road Blaster is, of all things, a conversion from a laserdisc game to the SNES. I am not sure this qualifies as a proper ROM Hack but since it's in the site and it's something I'm enjoying a lot I'll share here (apologies if it's already been shared). ![]()
